The emmis klemmis™ brand was born in Milan, Italy, by the Swede Emma Nilsson, who wanted to export Scandinavian philosophy and ecological awareness to Italy.
All emmis klemmis™ clothes are a combination of practicality, functionality and design typical of Scandinavian fashion, made from soft, high quality organic cotton, selected with special care for the delicate skin of children.
In order to offer unique designs and patterns, Emma immediately started a close collaboration with several young Scandinavian artists and illustrators, who enjoyed creating patterns especially for the emmis klemmis™ brand.
Not only dresses but also accessories, developed to facilitate the daily life of newborns but also that of their parents, always with a touch of a special design.
GREEN PHILOSOPHY
All emmis klemmis™ clothes are made of 100% Certified Organic Cotton, certified according to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).
The quality of the organic cotton is the main criterion when choosing suppliers for emmis klemmis™.
But what is meant by organic certification?
It refers to the guarantee that the cotton has been grown according to strict rules whose application is monitored by independent authorities or private organisations. Certification ranges from the inspection of plantations and cotton spinning facilities, the keeping of specific records and periodic soil and water analyses to ensure that growers and pickers comply with the imposed rules.
Organic Cotton is cultivated using methods and materials that have a reduced environmental impact: grown without the use of pesticides and spun without the use of chemical compounds, the growers only use organic fertilisers, apply crop rotation criteria and pest control, thus respecting the cardinal principle ‘work with and not against’ nature.
DISTRIBUTION – Nordic design for kids
But that’s not all: in addition to creating her own brand of children’s clothing and accessories, Emma has also brought many children’s products made by Swedish companies to Italy. With her company, Swesn distribution (SWE (sweden) + ESN (Emma Sofia Nilsson)), she has in fact become the exclusive distributor in Italy of products for children and their mothers.
The Swedish companies that Emma represents to date are: Teddykompaniet (click here to discover the catalogue), Summerville Organic, Les Enfants and REBAEL (Danish).
Naturally, these products have also been carefully selected, following the same philosophy on which the emmis klemmis™ brand was created, as well as Scandinavian ecological awareness.
